2010 was Reel 9 Productions first year making movies, and New Years has prompted us to take stock of how far we’ve come in the last year. Looking back, we’ve accomplished a lot since launching our website this past February.
Our short film Number 9 was accepted in the New Hope Film Festival and the New Filmmakers Festival in NYC. Number 9 also won an Award of Merit from The Accolade Competition. We produced an original short for Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary which played nightly at the top of the show. In March, we traveled to Del Ray Beach, Florida to capture footage for our documentary , and in August we produced our second wedding video in North Carolina. We submitted footage for the film Life in a Day and made it into the final selection stage out of 35,000 filmmakers. We haven’t received word whether or not any of our clips made it into the final cut, but Erin and Nathan will be returning to Sundance to volunteer for the second year in row to find out.
So here’s to 2010. Reel 9 wishes you all the best in 2011.
