This past Saturday I shot video for the lovely Jo Pincushion of Geekadelphia as she interviewed a multitude of Cosplayers at Wizard World 2011 right here in Philadelphia. I’ve always considered myself a bit of a nerd but I definitely fall short of earning my Geek badge as defined by the series of questions Ms. Pincushion had for the super-hero/comic/fantasy costume-wearing public. Regardless of my lack of Geek-cred, the whole experience was a blast.
A number of celebrities were in attendance: Adam West, Lou Ferrigno, the guys from Boondock Saints, Bruce Campbell (who i sorta got to hang out with in that we were at the same bar Saturday night having drinks with the same people….eh), Michael Biehn (Terminator!), a few Playboy bunnies and a host of other famous, sorta famous and not-so-famous celebrities.
I also finally met the comic book writer Nathan Edmondson. Yep. Nathan Edmondson. Check out Olympus and Who is Jake Ellis, two titles of his. Mr. Edmondson is taking off so keep an eye out for this guy. Here’s hoping one of his titles ends up in the movies. We had a blast introducing ourselves to people. Although I think we enjoyed the confusion way more than anyone else did.
A good friend was also in attendance, another comic book writer, Bryan Glass. His current work Mice Templar is super popular so jump aboard before the fourth volume comes our later this year.
Well, that bout does it. Thanks to Jo Pincushion and Geekadelphia.
